Claude Julien Joins Blues as Assistant Coach
Claude Julien, a veteran NHL coach with over two decades of experience, has been hired as an assistant coach by the St. Louis Blues. Julien, who last coached in the NHL in 2021 with the Montreal Canadiens, previously led the Boston Bruins to a Stanley Cup victory in 2011 and won the Jack Adams Award in 2008-09. His coaching record includes stints with the Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey Devils, and Boston Bruins. Julien joins Drew Bannister’s staff, who took over as Blues head coach last season, with Steve Ott being promoted to associate coach. This marks Julien's first role as an assistant coach, indicating his eagerness to return to the NHL bench. The Blues missed the playoffs last season, finishing fifth in the Central Division.
