Indian Cabinet Approves Rs 14,000 Crore for Farmers

The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved seven major agricultural projects with a total outlay of approximately Rs 14,000 crore. Key initiatives include the Digital Agriculture Mission (Rs 2,817 crore) aimed at modernizing agriculture through technology, and a Rs 3,979 crore scheme for crop science to ensure food and nutritional security. Additional allocations include Rs 2,291 crore for strengthening agricultural education and management, Rs 1,702 crore for sustainable livestock health, Rs 860 crore for horticulture development, Rs 1,202 crore for Krishi Vigyan Kendras, and Rs 1,115 crore for natural resource management. These projects are part of a broader strategy to enhance farmers' welfare, increase productivity, and ensure sustainable agricultural practices.
