SAS Emerges from Bankruptcy, Ends Cabin Crew Strike
Scandinavian airline SAS has emerged from U.S. Chapter 11 bankruptcy and a Swedish company reorganization, receiving a USD 1.2 billion investment as part of its SAS FORWARD plan, which includes debt restructuring of over USD 2 billion, fleet adjustments, and new ownership by Castlelake, Air France-KLM, Lind Invest, and the Danish State. Kåre Schultz has been appointed as Chairman of the Board. Additionally, SAS has reached a new wage agreement with Norwegian cabin crew unions, ending a four-day strike and resuming normal operations. The airline's new financial stability and operational improvements position it to enhance customer experience through its partnership with SkyTeam. SAS CEO Anko van der Werff highlighted the airline's strong operational performance and commitment to completing its transformation for a sustainable future.
