The incident occurred early Friday morning at the Super 8 motel on Monocacy Boulevard. The suspect, who had barricaded himself in a room and claimed to have a gun, was critically injured and transported to a Shock Trauma center in Baltimore for treatment. Two officers, an eight-year veteran of the Frederick City Police and an eight-year veteran of the Frederick County Sheriff's Office, fired their weapons during the standoff and are now on administrative leave. No law enforcement officers were injured, and the Maryland State Police are conducting the investigation. The area remains under heavy police presence as the investigation continues.
