Belichick, who has six Super Bowl wins as a head coach and eight total championships, is currently working as a media analyst. If he does not return to coaching before the 2025 NFL season, he is expected to be a first-ballot inductee. The new rule also affects other notable coaches like Pete Carroll. This adjustment aims to recognize the contributions of long-tenured coaches more promptly.
