Olympic shooting record

In the women's 10-meter air pistol event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, South Korean shooter Oh Ye Jin set a new Olympic record with a score of 243.2, securing the gold medal, while her teammate Kim Yeji took silver with 241.3 points. Oh's impressive performance included scoring at least 10 points on eight of her last nine shots. The bronze medal was claimed by India's Manu Bhaker, who scored 221.7, marking India's first medal at the 2024 Olympics and a historic achievement in women's shooting. The previous Olympic record of 240.3 points was held by Russian shooter Vitalina Batsarashkina from the Tokyo Games. This victory for South Korea was particularly notable as it was the first shooting gold medal at these Olympics not won by China, which had already claimed two golds in other events. Oh expressed disbelief at her win, attributing part of her success to the support of her teammate and roommate, Yeji.
