Delhi Waterlogging Sparks Political Blame Game

Delhi's waterlogging issues, particularly around the Dhaula Kuan flyover, have sparked a political blame game. PWD Minister Atishi has instructed officials to upgrade drainage systems and deploy more pumps to prevent future waterlogging after recent rains caused major disruptions. Meanwhile, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva blamed former AAP water ministers, Saurabh Bharadwaj and Satyendar Jain, for restricting maintenance work and causing the city’s flooding problems. AAP countered, attributing the issue to a financial crisis allegedly induced by BJP-controlled officials and the lieutenant governor, which has hindered maintenance services. The debate intensified with both parties accusing each other of corruption and administrative failures, while Congress also criticized Atishi for neglecting the waterlogging issues. Despite the political tussles, the residents continue to suffer from the recurring problem of waterlogging during monsoons.
