Tyler Perry's WWII Drama The Six Triple Eight Slated for December Release
Netflix has announced the release of Tyler Perry's WWII drama, The Six Triple Eight, which will hit select theaters on December 6 and stream on December 20. The film, inspired by the true story of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion— the only all-Black, all-female unit to serve overseas during the war— stars Kerry Washington as Major Charity Adams. Facing racism and sexism, these women accomplished the incredible task of sorting a massive backlog of undelivered mail for soldiers, showcasing their determination and resilience. The film features a strong ensemble cast including Oprah Winfrey, Susan Sarandon, and Dean Norris, with an original song by Diane Warren performed by H.E.R. Perry not only directed but also wrote the script and produced the film, which marks his first historical war drama for Netflix. The project aims to highlight the significant contributions of these unsung heroes during WWII.
