Swaroop Unhalkar Finishes 14th at Paralympics

Indian shooter Swaroop Unhalkar finished 14th in the men's 10m air rifle standing (SH1) qualification round at the Paris Paralympics, failing to qualify for the final. With a score of 613.4, Unhalkar could not rise above 13th position and even dropped to 16th at one point during the event, while South Korea's Park Jinho topped the qualification with 624.4 points. Despite a solid second series score of 103.0, Unhalkar struggled with consistency throughout the rounds. This disappointment comes after India celebrated three medals in shooting events, including historic wins by Avani Lekhara and Manish Narwal. The SH1 category is designated for para shooters who can shoot while standing or sitting. Unhalkar, who has been paralyzed in both legs due to polio, faced a challenging competition, contrasting sharply with India's recent successes in the games.
