Daniel Wiffen Wins 800m Freestyle Gold

Daniel Wiffen has become the first Northern Irish athlete to win an Olympic gold medal in 36 years, triumphing in the 800m freestyle with a new Olympic record of 7:38.19 at the Paris 2024 Olympics. His victory marks a remarkable journey from finishing fourth in previous championships to dominating the event with a dramatic final burst, supported by his twin brother Nathan.
