A political dispute has erupted in Delhi following a tragic flooding incident that resulted in the deaths of three students at a coaching center in Old Rajinder Nagar. AAP MP Sanjay Singh criticized the Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) for not taking action against responsible officials, alleging a conspiracy between the BJP and the LG to deflect blame. The LG, V K Saxena, visited the site, engaging with protesting students and promising appropriate action. Amid these developments, urban development minister Saurabh Bharadwaj claimed that a comprehensive desilting plan for the city's drains had been approved, contradicting reports of it being pending. Bharadwaj also highlighted the negligence in drain maintenance as a factor contributing to the flooding, asserting that the LG holds the authority to take action against officials. Meanwhile, Delhi police are set to investigate the Municipal Corporation of Delhi for possible failures in the drainage system and the illegal use of the coaching center's basement.
