Peacock Orders Bill Dubuque's Crime Thriller M.I.A.
Peacock has announced a straight-to-series order for the crime thriller 'M.I.A.', created by Bill Dubuque, co-creator of 'Ozark'. The series will follow Etta Tiger Jonze, who, after witnessing the slaughter of her family involved in drug running in South Florida, embarks on a quest for vengeance while forming her chosen family. Dubuque will serve as writer and executive producer, with Karen Campbell as showrunner and Stefano Sollima as director and executive producer. M.I.A. aims to explore themes of power and family dynamics, paralleling Dubuque's previous work in 'Ozark', which received 45 Emmy nominations. The series is produced by MRC, which is also behind Peacock's returning hits 'Poker Face' and 'Ted'. No casting or release date has been announced, but it is expected to premiere in 2025.
