Korean Air Buys 50 Boeing Widebody Aircraft
Korean Air has announced a significant purchase of 50 Boeing widebody aircraft, comprising 20 Boeing 777-9s, 20 Boeing 787-10s, and options for 10 more 787-10s, valued at $15 billion. This move is part of the airline's strategy to modernize its fleet and improve efficiency, ahead of its anticipated merger with Asiana Airlines. The new aircraft will enhance Korean Air's capabilities on high-demand routes to North America and Europe. Additionally, Korean Air is debuting its new Prestige Suites 2.0 business class on its Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners, featuring sliding privacy doors, wireless charging, and 24-inch TV screens. This new business class product will make its inaugural flight from Seoul to Tokyo on July 25, providing passengers with enhanced comfort and connectivity.
