Namitha Claims Discrimination at Madurai Temple

Actress and BJP state executive member Namitha alleged that she was asked to provide proof of being a Hindu during her visit to the Meenakshi Sundareshwarar Temple in Madurai. She expressed disappointment over the rude behavior of a temple official who demanded a certificate to prove her faith and caste. Namitha, who was wearing a mask, was eventually allowed inside after clarifying her Hindu identity and being anointed with kumkum on her forehead. The temple officials stated that the verification was part of standard security protocol due to the masks. Namitha, who visited the temple for spiritual reasons, urged the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Minister to take action against the official. She highlighted that her Hindu identity is well-known, citing her marriage in Tirupati and her son's name, Krishna.
