Delhi Mumbai Expressway
The construction of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, spanning 1,386 km, is now projected to be completed by October 2025, according to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. As of June 2024, 82% of the work has been completed, with 1,136 km built across 53 packages, of which 26 have been finalized. This expressway aims to significantly improve connectivity between key economic centers in multiple states, potentially reducing travel time by up to 50% and distance to the Jawaharlal Nehru Port by 180 km. The project, launched in 2018, has faced delays but is expected to bolster regional economies by facilitating quicker transport of goods and attracting investment in various sectors. Additionally, it is anticipated to enhance tourism opportunities by connecting numerous attractions and cities along the route. The expressway's completion is viewed as a key driver for industrial growth and the development of smarter urban areas in the connected regions.
