Anti-racism rally in Belfast

In the UK, over 15,000 anti-racist protesters gathered in Belfast for a rally organized by the United Against Racism group, following a week of violent riots sparked by a tragic knife attack in Southport that claimed three young lives. Demonstrators marched from Writer's Square to City Hall, holding pro-migrant and anti-racism placards, and chanting slogans emphasizing the need to protect migrant rights. The protests, which were accompanied by a heavy police presence to separate them from counter-protests by anti-immigration groups, saw speeches from various community representatives and emphasized the importance of unity against racism. In total, police reported nearly 800 arrests related to the riots, which have led to attacks on immigrant facilities and mosques.
