Andre Agassi to Launch Indian Pickleball League

Andre Agassi, the eight-time Grand Slam champion, is set to visit India in January 2025 to launch the PWR DUPR Indian Tour & League, aimed at popularizing pickleball in the country. In a video message, Agassi expressed his enthusiasm for introducing the sport to Indian fans, highlighting the potential for growth in this fast-emerging market. The tour coincides with the recent establishment of a new rankings structure by Pickleball World Rankings (PWR) and the introduction of the PWR World Tour and World Series. Prior to the main event, the PWR DUPR India Masters will take place in New Delhi from October 24 to 27, featuring the 'Battle of the League: Stage 1' competition. Winning teams will qualify for the DUPR Nationals in the USA, with significant prize money of USD 50,000 at stake. The initiative is supported by various pickleball organizations and aims to enhance player participation and infrastructure across India.
