Teacher Rebecca Joynes Sentenced for Sex Offenses

Rebecca Joynes, a 30-year-old maths teacher, has been sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison for engaging in sexual activities with two schoolboys, grooming them from the age of 15. Joynes was found guilty of six counts of sexual activity with a child, including two while being a person in a position of trust. One of her victims, known as Boy B, fathered a child with her while she was on bail for abusing another student, Boy A. The court heard victim impact statements detailing the severe mental toll on the boys and their families. Judge Kate Cornell condemned her actions as a severe abuse of trust and imposed lifetime registration on the Sex Offenders Register along with a restraining order against her victims.
