India's Budget to Create 4.1 Crore Jobs
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a comprehensive Budget 2024 focused on employment, skilling, and job creation, introducing several schemes under the Prime Minister's package. Key initiatives include an internship scheme offering opportunities for 1 crore youth in 500 top companies with a monthly allowance of ₹5000 and a one-time assistance amount of ₹6000. Additionally, three employment-linked schemes will benefit first-time employees: Scheme-A provides one-month wage in three instalments, Scheme-B incentivizes manufacturing job creation, and Scheme-C supports employers with EPFO contributions. The overall package aims to impact 4.1 crore youth over five years, with a total central outlay of Rs 2 lakh crore. The budget also allocates Rs 1.48 lakh crore for education, employment, and skilling, including financial support for student loans up to ₹10 lakh.
