Schumer Criticizes Trump for Antisemitism at DNC

Schumer, who wore a blue square pin to symbolize standing against antisemitism, emphasized his desire for a future free of discrimination for his grandchildren and all children. Despite his strong stance against hate, Schumer did not mention Israel or address the anti-Israel protests occurring outside the convention. His omission comes amid criticism from the Republican Jewish Coalition, which challenged Democratic speakers to praise Israel, offering to plant trees in Israel in their honor. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro also addressed antisemitism, denying Trump's claims that he was passed over as a vice-presidential nominee due to his Jewish heritage.
