Everton Rejects Marseille Loan Bid for Maupay

Everton has rejected a loan offer from Marseille for striker Neal Maupay, who is currently in the last year of his contract with the club. The Toffees prefer a permanent transfer for the 28-year-old, who has struggled at Goodison Park since joining from Brighton, scoring only once in 32 appearances. Maupay spent last season on loan at Brentford, where he scored eight goals in 31 games, but his future at Everton remains uncertain as he is not a regular starter under manager Sean Dyche. Marseille's interest comes after an injury to Faris Moumbagna, but they included a buy option in their loan proposal that Everton deemed unfavorable. The club is open to a loan exit but favors a deal that includes an obligation to buy next summer, seeking to offload Maupay entirely. Meanwhile, Everton is also negotiating to re-sign goalkeeper Asmir Begovic on a free transfer.
