Melody Waldecker, a 54-year-old woman from Silver Spring, Maryland, was killed in a carjacking incident in Sterling, Virginia. She was struck by her own car as the suspect, 21-year-old Jose Aguilar-Martinez, fled the scene. The incident occurred around 11:45 a.m. on Sunday at the Towncenter Plaza. Aguilar-Martinez was arrested shortly after and is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are expected. This tragic event marks the second fatal carjacking in Northern Virginia within two weeks.
