Rare Mercedes-Benz W196 Set for Auction

Various classic cars, including those owned by celebrities and ultra-rare models, are set to hit the auction block soon. Jamie Oliver is auctioning three cars, including a 1970 Ford Capri 3000GT Mk1, which is considered highly collectible and has undergone a £20,000 restoration. Meanwhile, a rare 1933 Auburn 12-165 Salon Speedster, one of only 14 produced, will be featured at the Mecum Dallas 2024 auction, with a rich history and an estimated modest mileage of 20,433. An ultra-rare Rally Fighter, known for its appearance in 'Fast & Furious 8,' is up for auction for around £60,000, retaining some film-related wear. Additionally, a legendary 1954 Mercedes W196 Streamliner, raced by icons Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss, could fetch between $50 million and $70 million at a forthcoming RM Sotheby’s auction, potentially making it one of the most expensive cars ever sold. This Mercedes is part of a sale to fund an expansion project for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum.
