CBS News President to Step Down End of Month
CBS News President Ingrid Ciprian-Matthews has announced she will step down at the end of the month and transition to a senior advisor role for the 2024 presidential election coverage before leaving the company entirely. This move comes shortly after CBS's parent company, Paramount Global, completed a merger with Skydance Media, which will result in significant cost cuts estimated at $2 billion. Ciprian-Matthews, who joined CBS News last August, cited the ongoing transformation of the industry and company as a key reason for her departure. Her exit continues a trend of leadership changes across major broadcast news networks ahead of the 2024 election. A replacement for Ciprian-Matthews has not yet been named.
