Tennessee Sues NCAA Amidst Ongoing NIL Investigation

The NCAA is investigating the University of Tennessee for potential NIL violations, with a focus on Spyre Sports Group, the university's primary NIL collective. The investigation includes the potential misconduct of donors paying for a private jet for quarterback Nico Iamaleava during his high school years, as well as the sponsorship of athletes across multiple sports by Spyre. University of Tennessee Chancellor, Donde Plowman, denies the allegations. A federal lawsuit, arguing that the NIL rules violate antitrust laws, has been filed against the NCAA by the Tennessee attorney general, Jonathan Skrmetti, alongside the Virginia attorney general.
