Heavy rain in Jaipur
Jaipur and several districts in Rajasthan are experiencing severe disruptions due to continuous heavy rainfall, with Jaipur recording a record 118 mm in 24 hours. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red alerts for multiple regions, warning of very heavy rains and potential flooding. Schools across Jaipur and other affected districts have been closed, and at least 20 people have died in rain-related accidents. Waterlogging has severely impacted transportation, with major roads like Sikar Road becoming impassable. Rescue operations are underway as authorities prioritize disaster management amidst ongoing weather warnings, which forecast continued rainfall for several more days. This relentless monsoon weather has led to significant challenges for residents, many of whom are confined to their homes due to flooding.
