Uruguayan Footballer Juan Izquierdo Dies at 27
Uruguayan footballer Juan Izquierdo has died at the age of 27, just five days after collapsing during a Copa Libertadores match against São Paulo. The defender suffered a cardiac arrest, diagnosed as cardiac arrhythmia, after falling unconscious on the pitch in the 84th minute of the game. Despite being rushed to Albert Einstein Hospital and initially being in stable condition, his condition deteriorated, leading to his death on Tuesday evening. His club, Nacional, and rival team São Paulo have expressed their condolences, with the latter stating that it is a sad day for football.
