NASCAR Legend Cale Yarborough Passes Away at 84

Cale Yarborough, a legendary NASCAR driver, has passed away at the age of 84. Yarborough, ranking sixth on the all-time winners list, won 83 races, including four Daytona 500s and five Southern 500s. He achieved remarkable success from 1976-1978 with three consecutive Cup Series championships, securing 28 wins and 70 top-five finishes over the 90 races in those seasons. Yarborough also became the first Republican elected to the Florence County Council since Reconstruction. After retiring from racing, he was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2012.
