Morne Morkel to coach India

Former South African fast bowler Morne Morkel is set to join the Indian cricket team as their new bowling coach, starting with the home series against Bangladesh in September. Morkel, who has previously worked with head coach Gautam Gambhir in the IPL, brings significant experience with 544 international wickets and a recent coaching stint with Pakistan. His appointment comes as the Indian team prepares for a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, where Sairaj Bahutule currently serves as interim bowling coach, though his future is uncertain with Morkel's arrival. The coaching staff will include Gambhir, assistant coaches Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate, fielding coach T Dilip, and potentially another spin bowling coach. This strategic move aims to enhance India's bowling capabilities ahead of critical upcoming series, including a five-Test tour of Australia.
