Georgia Family Killed in NY Plane Crash
A Georgia family of five, including two young boys, died in a plane crash in upstate New York while returning from a baseball tournament in Cooperstown. The single-engine Piper PA-46, piloted by 76-year-old Roger Beggs, lost flight tracking data 12 minutes after departing from Alfred S. Nader Regional Airport and crashed in Masonville amidst stormy weather conditions. The victims were identified as Roger Beggs, Laura Van Epps, Ryan Van Epps, and their sons James and Harrison. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) reported that debris was found over a mile-long path and a full investigation into the crash, focusing on the pilot, aircraft, and weather conditions, is underway. The community and family members are mourning the tragic loss, highlighting the boys' athletic achievements and the family’s close bond.
