D-ID, a Tel Aviv-based AI startup, has launched an AI-powered video translation tool called Video Translate, which can generate translated videos that mimic the original speaker's voice and sync lip movements. Currently in beta, the tool allows users to upload videos for translation into 30 languages, including Arabic, Chinese, English, and more, and is available for free to subscribers for a limited time. Users can only translate videos featuring a single front-facing person, and the tool currently does not support translations involving well-known individuals. The launch of Video Translate aims to help businesses and content creators reach global audiences without significant costs. D-ID's technology builds on its previous success in AI video generation and aims to redefine video communication for multilingual users. The tool competes with similar services from companies like ElevenLabs and Speechify.
