Williams Replaces Sargeant with Colapinto
Williams Racing has decided to replace American driver Logan Sargeant with Argentine Franco Colapinto for the remainder of the 2024 Formula 1 season, starting with the Italian Grand Prix. Sargeant, who has struggled throughout his tenure, highlighted by a significant crash during Dutch Grand Prix practice, will be succeeded by Colapinto, a young talent from the Williams Driver Academy. Team principal James Vowles emphasized that this decision aims to enhance the team's points-scoring potential in a fiercely competitive midfield. Despite the mid-season switch, Williams has expressed gratitude towards Sargeant and committed to supporting his future career. Colapinto, who has been competing in FIA Formula 2, is eager to seize this opportunity and contribute to Williams' progress.
