10 Bodies Recovered After Drina River Boat Capsizes

Search and rescue operations are ongoing in Bosnia and Serbia after a boat carrying Middle Eastern migrants capsized in the Drina River on Thursday. Authorities have recovered at least 10 bodies, including that of a baby, with several more people still missing. The boat, which overturned near Ljubovija, Serbia, had around two dozen migrants onboard. Serbian police, Bosnian border authorities, and rescue teams are involved in the operation, with 18 survivors found on the riverbank. The Drina River is part of the Balkan route used by migrants aiming to reach the EU, with recent years seeing a significant drop in the number of migrants crossing Serbia. The nationalities of the victims have not been disclosed yet.
