USA wins 3000 Olympic Medals

Team USA has made history by becoming the first country to surpass 3,000 Olympic medals, achieving this milestone during the 2024 Paris Games. The landmark was reached when Regan Smith and Katharine Berkoff won silver and bronze, respectively, in the women's 100-meter backstroke. As of now, the U.S. has accumulated a total of 26 medals in the ongoing Olympics, including 4 golds, 11 silvers, and 11 bronzes, with swimming being the primary contributor. Notably, the U.S. men's gymnastics team earned its first medal in 16 years, capturing bronze, while the women's team won gold led by Simone Biles. The U.S. entered the Paris Games with 2,975 total Olympic medals and has left other nations far behind, with no other country exceeding 1,500 medals in total. With the closing ceremony set for August 11, Team USA still has opportunities to increase its medal count further.
