Simpson's death in April, his ashes have been transformed into jewelry for his four adult children, a decision approved by both the children and his longtime lawyer, Malcolm LaVergne, who is also the executor of his estate. The total cost for the cremation and the jewelry was $4,243.06, which included death certificates. Despite the sentimental value, this move comes amid ongoing efforts to address Simpson's substantial debts, particularly tens of millions owed to the Goldman family from a 1997 wrongful death lawsuit. LaVergne has been working to liquidate Simpson's assets to settle these financial obligations. He noted that he did not take any of the jewelry for himself, as he wasn't interested. The jewelry typically consists of necklaces or bracelets containing miniature urns with the ashes.
