'Bosch' spinoff on Amazon

John Carroll Lynch has been cast as a series regular in the untitled spinoff of the 'Bosch' franchise, starring Maggie Q as Detective Renée Ballard, who runs the LAPD's cold case division. Lynch will portray Thomas Laffont, a retired partner of Ballard, assisting her in solving complex cases while navigating a larger conspiracy that threatens their safety. The series, based on Michael Connelly's works, is set to maintain the authenticity and momentum fans expect from the 'Bosch' universe. Courtney Taylor will join the cast as Samira Parker, a former cop returning to the force. The show is executive produced by a team including Connelly, Jet Wilkinson, and others, and will feature a total of 10 episodes. Ballard's character will first appear in the finale of 'Bosch: Legacy'.
