Fayetteville man sentenced
Lazarus Reaves was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the capital murder of Shaletian Robin Zetta Larry, whose body was discovered on an Arkansas highway in December 2020. Reaves was found guilty of shooting Larry in the back and attempting to dispose of evidence after the crime. In a separate case, a man named Garrard was convicted of endangering the life of a child in connection with the death of a 15-month-old boy, but he was sentenced only to jail time due to lack of evidence for homicide. Additionally, Reginald Lindsay, Jr. received a 10-year sentence for voluntary manslaughter related to a 2023 homicide. Lastly, Roland Dewayne Smith was sentenced to 20-25 years for the murder of Mercedes Rosa-Sterling, the mother of his child, after he fatally shot her during a domestic dispute in 2022. These cases highlight ongoing concerns regarding violent crime and domestic violence in various communities.
