Jack Del Rio Joins Wisconsin Football Staff

Jack Del Rio, a seasoned NFL coach with over 26 years of experience, has joined the Wisconsin Badgers' coaching staff as a senior advisor to head coach Luke Fickell. Del Rio, who most recently served as the defensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders, has a rich coaching resume that includes head coaching stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Oakland Raiders. He is expected to assist both offensive and defensive strategies, personnel decisions, and act as a sounding board for Fickell. This marks Del Rio's first foray into college football after a long career in the NFL. The Badgers, who ended last season with a 7-6 record, are looking to leverage Del Rio's expertise to improve their performance in the upcoming season. Wisconsin opens its 2024 season against Western Michigan on Friday night.
