Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has released a white paper accusing the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government under Jagan Mohan Reddy of causing severe economic decline, resulting in a revenue loss of up to ₹7 lakh crore and a rise in state debt from ₹3.75 lakh crore in 2019 to ₹9.74 lakh crore by 2024. Naidu's allegations include a decline in agricultural and service sector growth rates, increased power costs, and losses from various projects, particularly the Polavaram irrigation project. He claimed that mismanagement during the YSRCP rule led to significant financial irregularities and diverted funds, exacerbating the state's economic crisis. The white paper also highlights the ongoing challenges following the state's bifurcation and the need for focused development, particularly in the services sector. In response, Reddy criticized Naidu for failing to present a regular budget and for his past governance issues. Naidu's administration aims to address the financial crisis while emphasizing the importance of infrastructure projects and welfare initiatives.
