Addressing the National Conference of District Judiciary in New Delhi, PM Modi highlighted that atrocities against women and the safety of children are serious societal concerns. He acknowledged the significant role of the judiciary in upholding constitutional values, especially during critical times such as the Emergency. The conference comes amid protests over the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata and other recent incidents of sexual abuse. Modi called for better coordination within the criminal justice system to ensure thorough and prompt justice. The event also marked the 75th anniversary of the Supreme Court, celebrated with a commemorative stamp and coin unveiling.
