Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos announced that an emergency evacuation plan, established since last October, is ready for activation, positioning Cyprus as a vital hub for civilians seeking refuge. The U.S. is also evaluating evacuation sites, with Assistant Secretary Richard Verma recently visiting Cyprus to assess preparedness. Both Cyprus and Turkey's Incirlik Air Base are expected to play crucial roles in any evacuation efforts. Combating a possible mass displacement, the Cypriot government is also exploring alternative methods to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza amidst the escalating conflict.
