Tim Burton Declines Return to Superhero Movies
Tim Burton, renowned for his groundbreaking work on 'Batman' and 'Batman Returns', has expressed a disinterest in returning to the superhero genre, citing the modern industry's focus on franchises and cinematic universes. In a recent interview, he stated, "At the moment, I would say no," while acknowledging he would never completely rule it out. Burton reflected on his earlier experiences, noting the lack of studio interference during the original 'Batman' productions, which allowed for a more experimental approach. He shared that his enthusiasm for sequels diminished as studio priorities shifted towards franchise expansion. Additionally, he recalled an unmade Superman project with Nicolas Cage, which he described as a challenging journey. Burton's latest project, 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice', is set to premiere on September 6, 2024.
