The company plans to make Recall an opt-in feature rather than a default one and will implement encryption to protect the data. Despite initial speculation about the uninstall option being a response to EU regulations, Microsoft clarified that this functionality will not be provided. Recall is expected to be previewed with Insiders on Copilot+ PCs in October after significant modifications are made. Users will still be able to disable Recall during setup, but complete uninstallation remains unclear.
