Malik Monk Signs Four-Year, $78M Contract with Kings
Malik Monk, the runner-up for the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year, has agreed to a four-year, $78 million contract with the Sacramento Kings, preventing him from entering free agency. Monk, who averaged career highs of 15.4 points and 5.1 assists per game last season, was a key player off the bench for the Kings. This new deal is the maximum the Kings could offer under the collective bargaining agreement and includes a player option. Monk's re-signing addresses one of Sacramento's critical offseason priorities, as his performance and presence were considered irreplaceable. This agreement follows Monk's rejuvenation in Sacramento after previous stints with the Charlotte Hornets and Los Angeles Lakers.
