In response to a persistent heatwave, the Kashmir division administration has ordered the suspension of classwork for students up to primary level on July 29 and 30, 2024, affecting both government and recognized private schools. The Divisional Commissioner, V K Bidhuri, emphasized that while students will not attend school, all teaching and non-teaching staff are required to fulfill their duties as normal. This decision aims to safeguard young students from harsh weather conditions in the valley. The order has been communicated to relevant education officials to ensure proper implementation and awareness among the public.
