Raigad police have dismantled a fake call centre operating from a resort in Alibaug, which was selling banned sex stimulation drugs to US nationals. A total of 33 employees were arrested during the raid, and the call centre, run by Rohit Butane, contacted victims posing as representatives of a US pharmaceutical company. They accepted payments through gift cards, which were converted to Indian currency and transferred via hawala. Meanwhile, in Ludhiana, police arrested nine individuals behind another fake call centre, 'Success Solutions Care', which defrauded US nationals by falsely claiming their computers were at risk and soliciting money for supposed technical support. This operation revealed a broader scheme that had been active since 2015, with the kingpin Ratinder Singh allegedly inspired by a family member's profession. Investigations are ongoing to trace the main operators and uncover further details of their operations.
