Vetri Maaran's highly-anticipated sequel 'Viduthalai Part 2,' starring Vijay Sethupathi, is set for release on December 20, 2024, and will include new cast members like Manju Warrier, Anurag Kashyap, and Ken Karunas, continuing the story of Perumaal Vaathiyaar's fight against police brutality. Meanwhile, Mari Selvaraj's recent film 'Vaazhai' has been acclaimed for its poignant depiction of a young boy's struggles due to poverty, drawing inspiration from Selvaraj's own life. The film has garnered praise from notable figures like director Shankar and politician Tholkappiyan Thirumavalavan, and has been successful both critically and financially, grossing Rs 15 crore on a Rs 5 crore budget.
