Taijuan Walker Struggles in Loss to Royals
The Philadelphia Phillies' struggles continued with a 7-2 loss to the Kansas City Royals, marking their fourth loss in five games. Taijuan Walker, making his third start since returning from the injured list, was pulled after three innings, allowing six runs on eight hits, including two home runs, raising his ERA to 6.26. In contrast, Royals' pitcher Michael Wacha maintained his strong form, allowing only two runs over six innings. Salvador Perez and Hunter Renfroe hit pivotal home runs in a five-run third inning for Kansas City. Despite attempts to rally in the eighth inning, the Phillies' offense couldn't overcome the deficit. Manager Rob Thomson remains hopeful, noting upcoming returns of key players Ranger Suarez and Austin Hays.
