Yankees Add Domínguez for Little League Classic

The New York Yankees called up top prospect Jasson Dominguez as the 27th man for the 2024 Little League Classic against the Detroit Tigers, with plans to return him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after the game. Dominguez, who made an impactful debut last September with four home runs in eight games, had his season cut short by Tommy John surgery and later an oblique strain. Despite limited play this year, Dominguez has shown promise with a .280 batting average and .766 OPS in Triple-A. Yankees manager Aaron Boone cited the opportunity to add a right-handed bat against Tigers' lefty Tarik Skubal as a reason for Dominguez’s call-up. Dominguez’s performance and health will determine his future role with the team, especially with rosters expanding in September.
