Father Accused of Rape, Assault in Maharashtra

In Valsad, Gujarat, a man was swiftly arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl. The police, responding to public outrage, formed multiple teams and apprehended the suspect on a train bound for Maharashtra within hours of the complaint being filed. Meanwhile, in Badlapur, Maharashtra, a 54-year-old man is on the run after allegedly raping and beating his 16-year-old daughter repeatedly. The girl fled her home on August 22, later returning to report the abuse to the police. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and a search operation is underway. Additionally, Badlapur has witnessed another case of sexual abuse involving two kindergarten girls, leading to protests and the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT).
